Family Health Insurance
What is Family Health Insurance?
Family Health Insurance, often called a "Family Floater" plan, is a single insurance policy that covers
your entire family—self, spouse, children, and sometimes parents—under a unified "floater" sum
insured. Instead of buying individual policies for every member, you get a larger pool of coverage that
can be utilized by any member of the family in case of a medical emergency.
It is not only more affordable than multiple individual plans but also easier to manage with a single
premium and a single renewal date. DigiAssure's Family Health plans are designed to provide
comprehensive security, featuring automatic restoration of coverage if your limit is exhausted,
maternity benefits, and access to the country's best healthcare facilities. We ensure that when a
medical crisis hits, you focus on your family's recovery, while we handle the financial burden.
Why Choose Floater Plans?
1. Shared Sum Insured
A single large sum insured (e.g., ₹10 Lakhs) is shared among all family members. This provides higher coverage for any individual member if needed, compared to smaller individual plans.
2. Cost Efficiency
Family floater plans are significantly cheaper than purchasing separate individual health insurance policies for each family member, saving you up to 30% in premiums.
3. Unlimited Restoration
If one family member utilizes the entire sum insured during a policy year, our 'Refill' benefit automatically restores the amount for other family members or subsequent illnesses.
4. Tax Savings
Premiums paid for your family health policy are eligible for tax deductions under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, providing you dual benefits of health and wealth.

Factors Affecting Your Premium
How we calculate the best value for your family's health policy.
1. Age of Eldest Member
The premium of a family floater is primarily determined by the age of the eldest family member, as risk increases with age.
2. Number of Family Members
Adding more members (spouse/children) increases the premium, though it remains more cost-effective than individual plans.
3. Sum Insured Chosen
Naturally, a higher coverage amount (₹10L vs ₹5L) will lead to a higher annual premium payout.
4. Zone-based Pricing
Premiums may vary based on your city of residence, as healthcare costs in Tier 1 cities are higher than in Tier 2/3 cities.
5. Policy Duration
Opting for multi-year policies (2 or 3 years) instead of annual renewals can earn you attractive long-term discounts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common queries about family health plans answered.
Can I add my parents-in-law to the family floater plan?
Most standard family floater plans cover self, spouse, and dependent children. However, some advanced plans allow you to add parents and parents-in-law. It's often better to have a separate policy for senior citizens due to their higher risk profile.
What is the 'Restoration' benefit?
If one family member uses up the entire sum insured during a policy year, the 'Restoration' benefit automatically refills the full amount back into the policy at no extra cost, so that it's available for other family members or for another illness later that year.
Up to what age are children covered in the family plan?
In most policies, children are covered under the family floater plan until they turn 21 or 25, provided they are financially dependent. Once they start working or reach the age limit, they can be migrated to their own individual policy with all waiting period benefits intact.
Does the policy cover maternity and delivery expenses?
Yes, many of our family health plans include maternity benefits after a waiting period of 2-4 years. This covers both normal and C-section deliveries, pre-natal and post-natal care, and even immediate care for the newborn.
What happens if the eldest member (proposer) dies?
In such an event, the policy continues for the remaining family members for the rest of the policy term. During the next renewal, another adult member (e.g., the spouse) will need to become the new proposer.
Is there a limit on the number of claims per year?
No, there is no limit on the number of claims as long as they occur for different illnesses or treatments and are within the available sum insured (including restoration) for that year.
